Intel made 17 billion dollars in one quarter, that’s a new record even with the Spectre & Meltdown security breach and to be honest it’s a miracle for me. AMD won some ground but Intel is still ruling the entire market with 65% market shares.

Maybe it’s because the announcement that Intel will deliver a hardware fix for Spectre & Meltdown, I don’t know but the earnings speaking for themselves. CEO Brian Krzanich also said that a fix will be introduced in the Refresh Cascade Lake in the middle of this year.
Our near term focus is on delivering high quality mitigations to protect our customers infrastructure from these exploits. We're working to incorporate silicon-based changed to future products that will directly address the Spectre and Meltdown threats in hardware. And those products will begin appearing later this year.
